Very small suzuribako in black lacquer with hira maki-e gold lacquer decor of a flowering branch of prunus overflown by a bird. The sides decorated with flowering branches.
The nashi-ji lacquer interior contains a tray with a suzuri (ink stone) and a silver suki (water bucket). The very unusual format of this suzuribako gives it a precious character.
