The casting of this bronze was very well conducted, it grants to this sculpture an impressive set of details. Its small nose is represented by two frank points, its eyes are globular and smooth, and its mouth has an expression, almost smiling. Frogs and toads are often seen as the same species in Japan, in folklore it became an animal with several meanings, one of them being that it is an animal attached to its home.
