Elle se retrouve sur de nombreux objets ou leur donne sa forme. Le mus\u00e9e national des ch\u00e2teaux de Versailles et de Trianon poss\u00e8de ainsi un superbe plateau \u00e0 cinq pieds en forme de fleur de prunier, ayant appartenu \u00e0 la reine Marie-Antoinette. <em>Ume<\/em>, ou fleur de prunier, est une autre fleur japonaise tr\u00e8s appr\u00e9ci\u00e9e et c\u00e9l\u00e8bre. La fleur de prunier est l&#8217;une des premi\u00e8res \u00e0 fleurir chaque ann\u00e9e, g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement \u00e0 la fin de l&#8217;hiver ou au d\u00e9but du printemps, symbolisant la r\u00e9silience et le renouveau. Les fleurs de prunier sont un signe que le printemps est en route, apportant espoir et joie apr\u00e8s les froids mois d&#8217;hiver. Il est d\u00e9crit pour la premi\u00e8re fois par Jacob Breynius en 1689, toutefois la plante doit son nom a Carolus Linnaeus qui lui donna son nom : \u00ab Chrys \u00bb signifie en grec \u00ab dor\u00e9 \u00bb et d\u00e9signe la couleur d\u2019origine de la fleur. \u00ab Anthemon \u00bb signifie fleur, le chrysanth\u00e8me \u00e9tant donc la fleur dor\u00e9e. Loin d\u2019\u00eatre le symbole funeste qu\u2019il est en occident, le chrysanth\u00e8me au Japon est avant tout un signe de pouvoir mais aussi un signe de longue vie et de bonheur. Celle qu\u2019on appelle donc aussi la \u00ab fleur d\u2019or \u00bb est originaire de Chine et fait son apparition au Japon sous l\u2019e\u0300re Nara ou\u0300 elle est longtemps consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme une plante m\u00e9dicinale pour soulager la fie\u0300vre. Pour comprendre d\u2019o\u00f9 vient la symbolique du chrysanth\u00e8me, il faut remonter aux ann\u00e9es 1500 \u00e0 1400 avant J.C. Les chrysanth\u00e8mes \u00e9taient alors d\u00e9j\u00e0 cultiv\u00e9s en Chine tant qu\u2019herbe aromatique fleurie. Il \u00e9tait alors consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme une plante noble dot\u00e9e de pouvoirs particuliers. Le Chrysanth\u00e8me se retrouve d\u2019ailleurs sur les plus belles porcelaines chinoises, peints dans un style raffin\u00e9. De fa\u00e7on g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, le chrysanth\u00e8me est en Chine symbole de noblesse. Ce n\u2019est qu\u2019au VIIIe si\u00e8cle, que le chrysanth\u00e8me est introduit au Japon et \u00e9lev\u00e9 par l\u2019empereur au rang de symbole national. La cour japonaise est donc \u00e9galement connue sous le nom de \u00ab\u00a0tr\u00f4ne du chrysanth\u00e8me\u00a0\u00bb. \u00a0Alors qu\u2019elle \u00e9tait initialement l\u2019apanage de l\u2019aristocratie japonaise, la culture du chrysanth\u00e8me se d\u00e9veloppe consid\u00e9rablement sous l\u2019e\u0300re Edo (1600- 1868) a\u0300 partir de la ville imp\u00e9riale de Kyoto. De nombreuses personnes se sp\u00e9cialise dans la culture et la cr\u00e9ation de nouvelles vari\u00e9t\u00e9s de chrysanth\u00e8mes et expose leurs productions lors de \u00ab pr\u00e9sentations \u00bb, dans des auberges traditionnelles et dans des temples de Kyoto. Toute information, forme, couleur des fleurs, nom de la vari\u00e9t\u00e9\u0301, ou m\u00eame le prix \u00e9taient consciencieusement not\u00e9s dans un registre. Bien que surtout pr\u00e9sente sur la ville imp\u00e9riale de Kyoto entre 1688 et 1703, la culture du chrysanth\u00e8me se r\u00e9pandit ensuite a\u0300 travers tout le pays. De plus le chrysanth\u00e8me est \u00e9galement un des quatre \u00ab\u00a0Junzi\u00a0\u00bb, dont la traduction libre est \u00ab\u00a0membre de la noblesse\u00a0\u00bb. Le prunus, l\u2019orchid\u00e9e, le bambou et le chrysanth\u00e8me sont ensemble \u00ab\u00a0les quatre nobles\u00a0\u00bb. Chacun de ces nobles symbolise une saison : l\u2019hiver pour le prunus, le printemps pour l\u2019orchid\u00e9e, l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 pour le bambou et l\u2019automne pour le chrysanth\u00e8me. Ces \u00ab\u00a0Junzis\u00a0\u00bb sont toujours utilis\u00e9s dans l\u2019art pictural de toute l\u2019Asie. C\u2019est cette symbolique riche qui est la raison pour laquelle on retrouve la fleur de chrysanth\u00e8mes \u00e0 divers endroits, comme sur le passeport japonais et les pi\u00e8ces de 50 Yen par exemple. L\u2019Ordre supr\u00eame du Chrysanth\u00e8me existe encore aujourd\u2019hui. Il s\u2019agit de la plus haute distinction que puisse obtenir un citoyen japonais et qui lui est attribu\u00e9e par l\u2019empereur. Le chrysanth\u00e8me est ainsi la seule fleur du monde \u00e0 laquelle soit associ\u00e9e une aussi haute distinction.<\/p>\n<p>Le bambou (<em>take <\/em>en japonais) ou le bambou nain (<em>sasa<\/em>), est une plante vivace et persistante. Le bambou, r\u00e9sistant, souple et \u00e0 la croissance rapide, symbolise la force, la souplesse et la prosp\u00e9rit\u00e9. \u00a0Il est assimil\u00e9, avec le pin et la prune, \u00e0 la bonne fortune.<\/p>\n<p>Le cymbidium asiatique, ou <em>cymbidium goeringii<\/em> de sa d\u00e9nomination scientifique, ou bien encore <em>shunran<\/em> (\u00ab orchid\u00e9e du printemps \u00bb), du fait de son appartenance \u00e0 cette famille, est cultiv\u00e9 en Asie orientale depuis bien des si\u00e8cles, notamment en Chine et au Japon, o\u00f9 ils sont aussi bien utilis\u00e9s comme plantes d\u2019ornements, comme condiments, ou encore comme motif artistique. Fleurissant entre mars et avril, sa simplicit\u00e9, consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme rustique, en fait une plante d\u2019agr\u00e9ment tr\u00e8s appr\u00e9ci\u00e9e dans les jardins japonais. Cette utilisation d\u00e9corative \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 av\u00e9r\u00e9e au sein de la Chine des Zhou (1046 \u2013 256 av. J.-C.), le cymbidium \u00e9tant alors consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme un classique de l\u2019horticulture chinoise. Dans son utilisation comme condiment, les fleurs de cymbidium peuvent \u00eatres bouillies et assaisonn\u00e9es avec du vinaigre, ou encore sal\u00e9es et infus\u00e9es pour le th\u00e9. Enfin, le <em>shunran<\/em> a depuis longtemps \u00e9tait utilis\u00e9 comme motif d\u00e9coratif dans les arts japonais, garnissant les compositions de peintures \u00e0 l\u2019encre, d\u2019ustensiles d\u00e9di\u00e9s \u00e0 la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie du th\u00e9, ou encore d\u2019\u0153uvres laqu\u00e9es\u00a0: le cymbidium asiatique fait partie des \u00ab\u00a0Quatre Messieurs\u00a0\u00bb (<em>shikunshi<\/em>) dans l\u2019univers artistique chinois, avec la fleur de prunier (<em>ume<\/em>), le bambou (<em>take<\/em>) et le chrysanth\u00e8me (<em>kiku<\/em>), ces \u00ab\u00a0Quatre Messieurs\u00a0\u00bb sont figur\u00e9s sur les \u0153uvres d\u2019Asie orientale aussi bien pour leur esth\u00e9tique que pour ce qu\u2019ils repr\u00e9sentent\u00a0: justice,
